Eligible long-haul truck drivers can deduct 80% of meal and drink costs (instead of the usual 50%) while away for at least 24 hours driving a long-haul truck at least 160 km from the home terminal. With the simplified method you claim a flat rate per meal (the CRA lists $23 per meal, up to 3 meals a day, for 2025 – check the current year's rate) and keep a trip log instead of receipts.
