Canada

If you, as a shareholder, borrow money from your corporation, the loan is generally included in your personal income. The exception is a loan repaid within one year after the end of the corporation's tax year in which you took it, as long as the repayment is not part of a series of loans and repayments. A low- or no-interest loan can also create a deemed interest benefit.
